Greg Gripentrog, President, OC International, did not plan to be a missions leader.  His dream as a student at Long Beach State was to be a pro golfer, but that changed when he met the Lord through Campus Crusade.  After leading Denyse to the Lord, they married and joined Cru’s staff at San Jose State University.

So, after two months of marriage and brand new in ministry, they wandered into South Hills Community Church, where Lynna and I served, and became two precious friends.  Greg received his initial vision and direction for missions through South Hills, and he and Denyse have served the Lord for over 35 years with OC as field missionaries, field director, area director, and the VP of Fields before becoming president of the mission nine years ago.

Parents of three and grandparents of ten, Greg and Denyse pour themselves into loving their family, their neighbors, and their Lord through their passion for all.  No one challenges me more to be a godly man and a visionary leader than Greg.  His focus on strategic biblical realities has helped OC more than double in size during his tenure as president with over 60% of its current membership consisting of internationals from many countries around the world.

Who would have thought their first Sunday at South Hills that Greg and Denyse would turn out to be one of the most influential couples in missions today?  Truly we are privileged to have Greg and Denyse Gripentrog as friends of LFI.
