Dr. Gary Wood is a Leader Formation board member.  Gary relocated to Dallas from Houston in 1981 to establish Concorde Investment Management, a part of the Concorde Companies, a group of investment management and financial advisory enterprises with activities in marketable securities and venture capital. He also founded and is Chairman of OmniMed Corporation, a venture capital investment firm specializing in healthcare industries, and Concorde Capital Corporation, another venture capital investment firm. Dr. Wood is a co-founder and Chairman of the Board of International Hospital Corporation Holding, N.V. (IHH). IHH was founded in 1991 to develop acute-care hospital facilities, specialty hospitals and specialty clinics that are uniformly managed and branded in Latin America. Additionally, he a co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Paperless Transaction Management, Inc., a provider of comprehensive business-to-business electronic commerce solutions.

He is also active in civic and charitable organizations in Dallas. He is currently a member of the Investment Committee and Advisory Board for the Children’s Oncology Service of Texas (aka Ronald McDonald House).  In February 2005 he completed six years serving on the board of the Parkland Health and Hospital System (Dallas County Hospital District), which has been named as one of the top 100 hospitals in the U.S., and has served as past chairman (in 1988 and 1999) of the Society of International Business Fellows, where he is still a member in good standing.

A sixth generation Texan, Gary received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Texas Tech University and went on to receive only the third interdisciplinary Ph.D. awarded by Tech emphasizing law, business and statistics. He was named a Distinguished Graduate in Engineering in 1993. In 1994 he received the Allan J. McDonald International Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Gary and his wife Sheryl have four children.
